Corporate Paralegal

Amscot is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our collections legal department. Responsibilities File intake, initial review, skip tracing, and case setup. Prepare documents for attorney review, including demands, pleadings, correspondence, affidavits, judgments, motions, settlements, and other litigation-related documents. Handle all aspects of garnishment proceedings, including asset identification, preparation of court documents, processing Answers and Claims of Exemption, negotiations, recording satisfactions, and garnishment reporting. Maintain and update the case management system. Serve as the primary point of contact for judicial assistants, Clerk’s Offices, and county mediation services. Process all incoming and outgoing mail on a daily basis. Review bankruptcy notices and notify appropriate parties within the organization. Prepare and electronically file state and federal court documents through applicable filing systems. Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, hearings, and scheduling requirements. Ensure coverage for all scheduled hearings. Maintain ownership of case progression by monitoring deadlines and proactively advancing matters through standard litigation milestones. Qualifications Associate's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum of 3 years of paralegal or litigation support experience preferred. Experience with collections litigation, creditor rights, garnishments, or bankruptcy matters strongly preferred. Knowledge of the Florida Electronic Filing Portal, CM/ECF, and PACER preferred. Working knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and case lifecycles. Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage critical deadlines. Ability to manage multiple high-priority matters in a fast-paced environment. Ability to exercise independent judgment and proactively manage case workflow. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally manage sensitive and high-pressure interactions. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
