RN Hematology Oncology Infusion

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Outpatient Infusion setting provides specialized clinical care, coordination, and patient education for the Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy patient population. The role involves administering chemotherapy, blood products, donor leukocytes, and CAR-T product infusions. The RN must demonstrate strong communication skills, flexibility, independent critical thinking, and the ability to multitask effectively within a fast-paced team environment. A minimum of two years of acute care experience, hematology/oncology expertise, and relevant certifications are required. Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical care and coordination for Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy patients.
• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, donor leukocytes, and CAR-T product infusions safely and accurately.
• Deliver patient education regarding treatment plans and infusion procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Monitor patient responses and manage any infusion-related reactions or complications.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient progress.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols.

• Active Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience.
• Hematology/Oncology experience with at least 2 years in the specialty.
• Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Telemetry experience.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.

• Experience with Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy patient populations.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system within the specialty area.
• Previous experience in outpatient infusion or oncology infusion settings.

• Must be flexible to work weekend and holiday rotations per unit policy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Compliance with unit-specific infection control and safety protocols.
• Must be able to obtain TB skin test.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights on inpatient units as needed.

• Full-time position with options for 36 or 40 hours per week.
• Work schedule includes primarily weekdays with weekend and holiday rotation.
• Shift patterns may include four 10-hour shifts or three 9-hour shifts, based on unit staffing needs.
