Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This role is designed for a compassionate Special Education Teacher passionate about fostering growth and learning for students in 4th and 5th grade. You’ll work with a small class size of 7–8 students in a facility renowned for its strong support network, making an impactful difference every day.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid LBSI certification in Special Education
• Experience teaching elementary-age students, ideally in a self-contained classroom setting
• Familiarity with Unique or STAR curriculum is highly valued
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to partnering with colleagues and families
• Enthusiastic about implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
• Commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students in 4th and 5th grades within a self-contained classroom
• Adapt lessons to individual needs and abilities using engaging educational strategies
• Implement curriculum (especially Unique or STAR, if familiar), maintaining consistent routines and structure
• Collaborate closely with other special education teachers and support staff under a strong, team-oriented setting
• Develop and regularly update educational plans, documenting student progress and achievement
• Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams

Working Hours:

• 8:05 am – 3:35 pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
• 8:05 am – 3:50 pm (Wednesday)
• 35 hours per week, excluding a daily 30-minute lunch
• Contract term: August 17, 2026–May 28, 2027, with early orientation available if onboarded between August 5–11
