Billing Supervisor
A leading law firm is seeking a Billing Supervisor for its Chicago office to help keep billing operations running smoothly across multiple locations. The Billing Supervisor will oversee the billing team's day-to-day work, serve as a go-to resource on departmental matters, monitor workloads, and recommend staffing adjustments as needed. Responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for assigned billing staff firmwide, training team members, communicating regularly with the Billing Manager, and collaborating with attorneys and clients on invoice presentation. The role also involves coordinating billing processing functions in line with department procedures and accounting principles, working with the e-billing team to troubleshoot issues, maintaining documentation of billing policies, and helping improve billing processes to meet firm deadlines. The Billing Supervisor will also manage billing for assigned attorneys, including monthly proforma preparation and processing, finalize invoices, and run relevant reports.
Candidates should have at least 7 years of legal billing experience, including 2 years working in 3E or Aderant, along with prior supervisory experience. A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred, along with strong Excel skills and excellent communication abilities. The anticipated base salary range is $104,000 to $143,000 per year.
