Take the next step in your special education career by supporting elementary students with developmental cognitive disabilities and autism spectrum disorder in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This contract opportunity runs from late August 2026 to early June 2027, offering a chance to make a measurable difference in one school building near Minneapolis.
You'll work full time (37.5 hours per week) as a lead teacher in a Setting 3 classroom with 6-10 students. Your expertise with EBD, ASD, or DCD populations will be highly valued as you foster growth, independence, and inclusion for each student on your caseload. The setting, resources, and supportive administration provide an ideal space to employ best practices and drive positive outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Valid special education license with an ASD or DCD endorsement
- Licensure at Tier 3 or Tier 4 required
- Prior experience in Setting 3 or cluster special education classrooms
- Strong background supporting elementary students with EBD, ASD, and/or DCD needs
- Ability to collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families
- Skilled in IEP case management, data collection, and progress reporting
Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction and behavioral supports designed for each student’s needs
- Manage and implement IEPs, documenting progress and communicating regularly with the IEP team
- Adapt instructional materials for learners with diverse cognitive and behavioral needs
- Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Supervise and provide direction to classroom support staff
- Engage in ongoing professional development
Start date is August 31st, 2026, and the assignment ends June 4th, 2027.
