This role is designed for remote work but will also involve occasional engagement at our outpatient office in Thousand Oaks. You will collaborate with a network of professionals, including law enforcement and healthcare staff, ensuring comprehensive support for clients experiencing mental health emergencies. Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide immediate and empathetic crisis counseling to individuals experiencing mental health episodes, ensuring a non-judgmental and supportive environment.

• Conduct thorough assessments and maintain meticulous documentation of patient interactions, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of information maintained.

• Engage collaboratively with law enforcement, hospital staff, and psychiatrists to facilitate psychiatric evaluations, determining the necessity for 5150/5585 involuntary detention applications.
\n
• Plan and coordinate transportation to mental health facilities, including locating appropriate resources such as vacant beds in homeless shelters.
\n
• Deliver ongoing case management by working alongside third-party entities such as the Department of Mental Health to monitor patient progress and stability.
\n
• Develop and implement action plans in conjunction with patients and relevant stakeholders to promote effective treatment pathways.
\n
• Assist in training law enforcement personnel in mental health crisis management to help de-escalate situations, enhancing both public safety and client care.

You will primarily work with a diverse population that includes arrestees and community members grappling with acute mental health challenges. This may involve individuals requiring immediate intervention and those navigating ongoing mental health issues. Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.

• Current and valid LPCC license in California.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing a full caseload.

Preferred Experience\n

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR certification.
