Inventory Manager

An Inventory Manager typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include: Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials (steel, aluminum, sheet metal, etc.), hardware, consumables, and finished products. Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and overages. Ensure proper labeling, organization, and traceability of materials. Collaborate with production, purchasing, and project managers to forecast material needs. Ensure timely availability of materials for fabrication jobs and work orders. Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent downtime or overstock Oversee warehouse layout and storage systems for efficient material handling. Ensure safe and compliant storage of materials, including heavy stock and hazardous items. Manage receiving, staging, and issuing processes for all inventory items. Utilize inventory management software to track transactions and stock movements. Generate inventory reports, usage trends, and cost analyses for leadership. Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline inventory processes. Supervise warehouse and inventory staff as applicable. Train team members in inventory procedures, safety standards, and system use. Promote a culture of accountability and organization within the warehouse. Coordinate with suppliers for material deliveries, returns, and quality issues. Support purchasing decisions by providing accurate inventory data and demand forecasts.

QUALIFICATIONS

7+ years of inventory or warehouse management experience, ideally in fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environments. Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and material handling. Experience with ERP or inventory systems and implementation of new systems Ability to operate forklifts or willingness to become certified. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Familiarity with fabrication materials, job shop workflows, and production scheduling.
