Accounts Payable Manager (Interim) Location: Montebello, CA Pay: Up to $57.69 an hour Type: Interim (3-6 months) 100% on-site Reports to: Corporate Controller Team: Manage6 About the Role We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the accounts payable process and lead a team of professionals for a large manufacturing and distribution client. This is a temporary role for 3-6 months and the role requires strong leadership, process improvement capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining accuracy and compliance. The Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for assessing and cleaning up the AP aging to ensure accurate vendor balances and timely payment processing. This individual will evaluate current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements to streamline the accounts payable function, increase payment speed, strengthen controls, and enhance overall operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of reducing backlogs, improving aging metrics, and driving continuous improvement within the AP department. Key Responsibilities Review, reconcile, and clean up aged accounts payable balances. Analyze existing AP processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Develop and implement streamlined payment workflows to accelerate invoice processing and vendor payments. Identify bottlenecks and establish best practices to reduce processing times. Collaborate with accounting, procurement, and operations teams to improve cross-functional processes. Monitor AP metrics and provide recommendations for ongoing process optimization. Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures. Responsibilities Lead and mentor the accounts payable team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Implement and maintain AP policies and procedures. Oversee invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor relations. Prepare reports on AP activities, including aging and cash flow analysis. Ensure compliance with company policies and assist with audits. Manage vendor master files and resolve discrepancies promptly. Qualifications Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Minimum 5-7 years of AP experience with team leadership. Proficiency in AP systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
