Department Information California State University’s Department of Music and Theatre is housed in the College of Arts and Humanities. The Music Program offers a BA in Music and a BM in Music in Music Education. The Theatre Program offers a BA in Theatre. Position Description The Department of Music and Theatre at CSUB accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part-time lecturers across the music and theatre programs. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool will be good for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31st. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Preferred Qualifications : Terminal degree Rank and Salary Lecturer salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Appointment is subject to budgetary authorization. Salary schedule information for the Lecturer - Academic Year classification is as follows: Lecturer AY (Range 2) - $5,507 - $6,677 Lecturer AY (Range 3) - $6,221 - $13,224 Lecturer AY (Range 4) - $6,825 - $14,523 Lecturer AY (Range 5) - $8,593 - $15,211 The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Offers of employment are conditional and may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, or if it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
