Part‑Time Lecturer Pool Position – Faculty Employment Opportunity The Department of Computer Science at California State University, East Bay is soliciting appointments for a one‑ or more temporary, part‑time lecturer pool. Positions will be considered for invitations to the Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027 semesters, and for eventual appointments when openings arise. Department Overview The department has 12 full‑time faculty members, offering roughly 30 undergraduate and 20 graduate courses each semester, in both day and evening sessions, including online and in‑person formats. The class sizes are generally small, providing ample faculty‑student interaction. Responsibilities Lecturers will teach lower‑division computer programming courses and advanced topics in Computer Science. Teaching may occur on the main campus, the Hayward campus, the Concord Center, or online. Faculty are expected to perform all duties within California. Rank and Salary Lecturer AY (Range 2): $5,507 – $6,677 Lecturer AY (Range 3): $6,221 – $13,224 Lecturer AY (Range 4): $6,825 – $14,523 Lecturer AY (Range 5): $8,593 – $15,211 The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Dates Fall Semester: begins August 17, 2026 Spring Semester: begins January 19, 2027 Qualifications Applicants must possess a master’s degree in Computer Science and have teaching experience at the post‑secondary level.
