The LOA Hourly - Simulation and Lab Technician will support operations of the skills lab for the School of Nursing to ensure that users are able to deliver a quality educational experience. The successful applicant will be at least 18 years of age, with a high school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of volunteer/community service, or work experience.*Please note that students currently enrolled in the nursing program at Nevada State, or students enrolled in pre-requisite courses and planning to apply for the nursing program at Nevada State are ineligible for this position.***About the institution:**Nevada State University, a four-year Minority Serving public institution with a statewide mission, is dedicated to excellence in teaching and learning and committed to the advancement of a diverse and largely underserved student population. In order to strengthen the university and progress its mission, the university dedicates itself to intentional and ongoing reflection to meeting the evolving needs of Nevada State University, the surrounding communities, and the State of Nevada.We seek applicants who are passionate about working with this promising student population and collaborating with faculty and staff across departments to make a lasting impact in developing our institution and our community.We encourage you to highlight your background in fostering an inclusive campus culture and supporting the success of students who are historically underrepresented in higher education.**Core Responsibilities*** Coordinating and organizing all supplies needed for teaching and exam sessions.* Set-up and break-down of physical assessment and skills labs.* Assist with maintaining inventory and par levels, for disposable and non-disposable supplies.* Pre-set/stock all labs and simulation areas.* Operate and maintain skills lab equipment (manikins, task trainers, beds, and other medical equipment) and supplies.* Facilitate high fidelity simulation events in collaboration with other simulation staff, facilitators, and instructors while maintaining programmatic standards and expectations.* Assist Director, Lab Coordinator, and other Technicians to maintain schedules, equipment, and other required resources for all exam and teaching sessions.* Troubleshoot equipment when problems arise.* Facilitate repair and maintenance of laboratory equipment when needed.**Minimum Qualifications:*** High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of 18 years of age.* Proficient in network technology.* Proficient at working with audio/visual equipment and computers (hardware, software, and basic applications)* Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and written.* Ability to multi-task.* Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).**Please note:** Applicants must meet the posted minimum qualifications at the time of application in order to be considered for the position.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS).* Experience with data tracking and continuous Quality Improvement.* Experience with healthcare education lab operations and budgets.**Work Hours:**This position will work 20-30 hours per week.
