Senior Ground Support Equipment Diesel Technician

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Pay: $45.00 per hour

You start the morning prioritizing the flight schedule and assigning work to technicians so aircraft turn on time. A tug reports a hydraulic issue—your advanced diagnostics pinpoint the fault, and you guide the repair while mentoring a junior tech through the troubleshooting steps. Midday, you review preventive maintenance plans, adjust parts orders to balance cost and uptime, and collaborate with operations to stage equipment where it’s most needed. The afternoon brings a safety huddle, record updates, and a quick response to an unexpected GPU outage—resolved safely and swiftly to keep the ramp moving.

• Lead day-to-day maintenance workflow for motorized and non-motorized GSE to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.
• Provide expert guidance, on-the-job coaching, and training for technicians; set quality and safety expectations.
• Execute and refine preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and corrective repairs aligned with OEM specs and regulations.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures; direct efficient troubleshooting and resolution.
• Track performance metrics, maintain detailed service records, and drive continuous improvement in procedures and best practices.
• Coordinate with cross-functional partners to meet equipment demand across airport operations.
• Manage parts, fluids, and consumables inventory; support budgeting and cost control.
• Respond to urgent repair calls to restore service safely and quickly.
• Champion environmental compliance and lead routine safety meetings and trainings.
• Model PrimeFlight’s standards for customer service and safety.

• Minimum age 18.
• 2+ years maintaining and repairing ground support equipment with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of diesel powertrains, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and team-leadership skills; able to mentor effectively.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficient English communication (read, write, speak).
• Comfort using tablets, computers, and mobile devices to access manuals, schematics, and work orders.
• Professional communication with colleagues and customers in person and electronically.
• Eligibility to obtain required airport and government clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, U.S. Postal—as applicable).
• Flexibility to support a 24/7 airline environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Frequent reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling; crawling and crouching in tight spaces.
• Bending, stretching, squatting, kneeling; climbing and working at heights.
• Work around moderate to high noise, biohazards/chemicals, and outdoor weather.
• Hear spoken instructions and audible alarms; perform repetitive motions of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
