Assistant Project Manager

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Thousand Oaks, CA to help deliver major commercial piping construction projects from procurement through closeout alongside our senior project management team.

Impact
- Keep large-scale piping installations on schedule and on budget across multiple active job sites.
- Give senior Project Managers reliable support so major construction projects never stall on paperwork.
- Maintain tight coordination between design teams, piping subcontractors, and field crews.
- Protect project margin through accurate procurement tracking and disciplined change-order management.

Responsibilities
- Track and manage submittals, RFIs, and change orders across major piping construction projects.
- Build and maintain detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
- Coordinate procurement of piping materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
- Support senior Project Managers in managing budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting.
- Review piping submittals and shop drawings for accuracy against contract documents.
- Partner with field superintendents to resolve installation and sequencing issues.
- Assist with project closeout documentation, punch lists, and final turnover.
- Attend owner and subcontractor meetings, tracking action items to completion.

Requirements
Must-Haves
- 3-5 years supporting commercial piping or mechanical construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
- Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, specifications, and P&IDs.
- Experience coordinating submittals, RFIs, and procurement on major construction projects.
- Onsite presence in the Thousand Oaks, CA market.
Nice-to-Haves
- Background with firms such as ACCO Engineered Systems, Southland Industries, or Therma.
- Experience on large-scale industrial, institutional, or high-rise piping projects.
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar pro
