Job Title: Assembler (3rd Shift)

Job Description

Join a growing manufacturing team as a 3rd Shift Assembler, where you will work on an assembly line punching grommets and rivets into manufactured blades. You will contribute directly to production quality by following established processes, using power tools and measuring tools, and collaborating closely with your team in a clean, organized facility.

Responsibilities

• Punch grommets and rivets into manufactured blades according to established procedures and quality standards.

• Work on an assembly line as part of a coordinated team process, following the operating rhythm taught during training.

• Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure components meet specifications.

• Inspect parts and finished products for quality defects and take appropriate action when issues arise.

• Operate and handle power tools safely and correctly as part of the general production process.

• Follow all safety guidelines when working near the furnace or oven, including using grabbers to handle hot parts at designated stations.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production and a safe work environment.

• Stand for extended periods throughout the shift while performing repetitive assembly tasks.

• Lift and move materials and parts weighing up to 40–50 pounds as needed during production.

• Participate in orientation, training, and ongoing instruction to build a strong understanding of job expectations and production flow.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in assembly, general production, or manufacturing environments.

• Ability to use power tools safely and effectively in a production setting.

• Strong attention to detail to identify and address quality defects in parts and finished products.

• Ability to accurately measure components and follow specifications.

• Critical thinking skills to recognize issues, follow instructions, and support continuous improvement.

• Proven ability to work as a team player in an assembly line environment.

• Capability to stand on your feet for the duration of the shift.

• Ability to lift 40–50 pounds as part of regular job duties.

• Comfort working in areas that may become hot at times, particularly near furnaces or ovens.

Work Environment

The facility is clean, very organized, and includes a production line alongside welding, shipping and receiving, and engineering departments, providing exposure to a variety of operations. Certain stations, particularly near the furnace or oven, can become hot at times, and tools such as grabbers are used to handle heated parts safely. The role involves standing for most of the shift and lifting up to 40–50 pounds as part of normal duties. Multiple shifts operate in the facility, with this position scheduled on 3rd shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., aligning with a structured orientation process that includes a facility tour, lunch break, and observation of experienced employees to ensure you understand expectations before working independently. Dress and equipment are supported through merchandise vouchers for work-appropriate shirts, pants, and protective footwear such as metatarsals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rock Island, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
