Job Title: File Clerk
Location: Rochester, NY, 14626 (Onsite)
Duration: 3 Months Contract
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 40 Hours per Week
Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Flexible within normal business hours)

Position Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized File Clerk to support document management and administrative operations. This temporary role is responsible for organizing, scanning, indexing, and maintaining both paper and electronic records while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with established filing procedures.


The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently manage repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and sort paper files according to established filing systems and company guidelines.
  • Prepare documents for scanning by removing staples, paper clips, and arranging pages appropriately.
  • Scan physical documents and upload them into designated electronic document management systems.
  • Accurately label, index, and file electronic records for easy retrieval and compliance purposes.
  • Perform data entry and quality control checks to ensure scanned files are complete and accurate.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive and proprietary information at all times.
  • Assist with general clerical, administrative, and office support duties as assigned.
  • Support document retention and records management initiatives.
  • Ensure all files are processed efficiently and within established timelines.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and document management tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle repetitive work accurately and efficiently.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in file management, records management, clerical support, administrative assistance, or document control.
  • Experience scanning, indexing, and organizing electronic records.
  • Familiarity with office equipment such as scanners, copiers, and document management systems.
