The incumbent, under the direction of an assigned supervisor, performs advanced instructional support functions to individual students or groups of students in a classroom or laboratory environment in a specific instructional area to facilitate effective learning. This recruitment will be used to form a Science Lab Technician III – Biology substitute pool. All About the Job Current vacancy: Grossmont College. Type of position: Full-time Substitute. Work hours: Summer hours through Friday, July 31, 2026: Monday–Thursday 10:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Fridays closed. Regular hours (beginning Monday, August 3, 2026): Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Duration: Minimum of three months, may be extended. Salary: CL-36. Initial salary placement: Step A ($28.60 per hour). Responsibilities Perform advanced instructional support functions to individual students or groups of students in a classroom or laboratory environment in a specific instructional area to facilitate effective learning. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Any combination equivalent to two years of college‑level coursework in a related science discipline. Experience: Three years of experience in a science laboratory, with increasing responsibility required. Other requirements: Must be able to work the specified hours. Benefits Monthly salary range: $4,958 – $6,201 based on 40 hours per week. Other benefits as per district policies.
