Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized care to patients, tailoring treatment plans to their unique goals and physical needs.
• Maintain a manageable patient load to ensure that each client receives the attention and time they deserve during therapy sessions.
• Apply expertise in orthopedic outpatient care to aid in the recovery of patients suffering from various musculoskeletal conditions.
• Utilize evidence-based treatment methods to improve patients' mobility and functional abilities in a cost-effective manner.
• Develop and implement comprehensive care plans, incorporating a variety of therapeutic techniques and exercises.
• Encourage patients to adopt non-surgical approaches, thereby minimizing their reliance on medications.
• Motivate and support patients throughout their treatment journeys, promoting adherence to prescribed exercise programs.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes and achieve organizational goals.
• Monitor and evaluate treatment effectiveness, making necessary adjustments to care plans based on patient progress.
• Document all patient interactions comprehensively using EMR software to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses primarily on outpatient clients seeking rehabilitation for various conditions, including post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. Our patient demographic ranges from athletes to active adults and elderly individuals, all requiring specialized interventions to regain their mobility and functional independence.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.
• Possession of an active Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia, with no history of sanctions or board proceedings.
• Demonstrated proficiency in various manual therapy techniques and modalities.
• Strong ability to design and implement effective exercise programs based on individual patient needs.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) software, particularly WebPT, for accurate documentation and patient management.
• Extensive knowledge of contemporary physical therapy practices supported by current research.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an outpatient rehabilitation setting, particularly in orthopedic therapy.
• Experience working with diverse patient populations, including athletes and elderly clients.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and engage patients during their rehabilitation process.

Compensation and Benefits
