Red Chris is an open-pit copper-gold mine in the famous Golden Triangle of northern British Columbia, situated on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. As a fly-in, fly-out operation, Red Chris is reached via charter flights from multiple locations in BC and Alberta, with teams working on a rotational schedule. Currently an active open-pit producer, Red Chris is poised for an exciting transformation – we are developing a high-value underground block cave that will extend the mine's life for decades and unlock even more resources. The remote location fosters a close-knit "camp" community where safety and teamwork come first. Your impact includes:

• Understanding company procurement policies and procedures. Timely procurement of goods and services utilizing standardized procurement processes and using ERP system.
• Utilizing SAP, Ariba and Fieldglass to facilitate streamlined procurement of goods, repairs and services, and ensure POs are available for suppliers on Ariba or Fieldglass.
• Proactively identifying any SAP Ariba/Fieldglass interface issues that are impacting timely purchaser order issuance to suppliers, raising suitable IT tickets and working with cross functional teams to resolve the issue.
• Monitoring Ariba/Fieldglass exception queue and collaborating with suppliers, warehouse and AP to perform support on mismatch resolution of services and goods invoices, thereby support resolving payment issues.
• Monitoring purchasing queue and ensuring orders are issued in timely manner for category of goods and services assigned.
• Collaborating with various functions such as warehouse, end users, inventory controllers, AP to facilitate end-to-end procurement process.
• Facilitating three bids and a buy process to ensure user is getting the best value based on business needs.
• Maintaining accurate SAP price files (e.g. info records) for non-contracted catalogued items.
• Facilitating new supplier onboarding on Newmont system.
• Ensuring governance and standardization of procurement with preferred suppliers.
• Supporting and proactively driving the company's safety culture by ensuring all suppliers comply to the appropriate standards and regulations. Supporting the Safety Management System, ensuring a safety-first work culture; applying site safety standards, procedures and policies.
• Responsible for key procurement metrics such as PR to PO turnaround time, OSND resolution, PO accuracy, and on time delivery.
• Understanding Newmont's obligation under the community Benefit and Co-Management Agreement (IBCA) and work with local community and indigenous procurement group to promote business with local community business partners.

As part of the team, you will:

• Facilitate procurement activities at Red Chris for services and goods in order to maximize the value derived from indirect spend and meet end user's needs. Preparing RFx documents, collaborating with end users on specifications and scope development, working on clarifications with suppliers, RFx analysis, commercial comparisons, and issue purchase orders in SAP.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with site suppliers, ensuring open communication, timely resolution of any PO related or performance issues and favorable negotiations of any changes to contract terms.
• Track key supplier performance and work with cross functional teams to resolve supplier performance and identify initiatives that will require exploring alternative suppliers.

Prerequisites include:

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field (C.P.M./C.P.S.M. preferred).
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes in SAP, Ariba and Fieldglass.
• Prior experience in managing various indirect goods and services procurement in mining and oil and gas industry is preferred.
• Skilled in SAP, Ariba, Fieldglass and Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.

Work environment:

• This role is remote. Out of province candidates will be required to support BC time zone.
• Fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Frequent interaction with internal stakeholders and external contractors. Focused on safety, collaboration, and delivering value across the supply chain 5X2 working schedule (Monday-Friday).

The expected hourly rate for this role is CA$44.75. This rate is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
