Position Summary: The Director of Client Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the people, processes, and platforms that power the firm's client service delivery. Reporting directly to the COO, this position leads a team of 22+ Relationship Managers, manages multi-custodial operations, drives private market fundraising and reporting processes, and plays a critical role in integrating acquired RIA firms onto the firm's operational and technology infrastructure. This role exists at the intersection of people management, operational execution, and strategic growth support. The ideal candidate brings deep RIA operational expertise, the composure to manage concurrent high-stakes workstreams, and the emotional intelligence to lead diverse teams — including newly integrated professionals from acquired firms who are navigating significant change. This position is based in metropolitan Atlanta. Some travel may be required to support acquisition integration activities, provide onsite training and support, or attend custodial and industry events. The role operates in a fast-paced environment with frequently shifting priorities driven by acquisition timelines, fundraising cycles, and client needs. WHAT YOU WILL OWN Serve as direct supervisor for 22+ Relationship Managers across the firm, providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, support, and ongoing feedback, including annual performance evaluations. Set expectations and maintain accountability for service quality, responsiveness, and client experience standards. Manage onboarding, training, platform integration, and cultural assimilation of new hires and team members joining through acquisitions. Identify talent development opportunities and build bench strength within the Relationship Manager team. Custodial & Platform Operations Manage the firm's custodial relationships, including Schwab, Fidelity, Inspira, iCapital, and the firm's affiliated private investment provider. Oversee custodial platform access, permissions, and security administration. Serve as the senior escalation point for complex client and employee issues involving custodial platforms. Continuously evaluate custodial processes and service delivery for improvement opportunities. Coordinate with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure operational processes, documentation standards, and client-facing workflows align with regulatory requirements; support audit readiness on the operations side. Manage client transition and offboarding processes, including account closures, ACAT transfers, and deceased client account administration. Oversee relationships with operational service providers, including document management, e-signature, reporting, and mail/courier vendors, ensuring service quality and cost effectiveness. Private Market Operations & Fund Administration Manage and report progress on the firm's private market fundraising and capital call process across 60+ discrete annual deadlines. Engage with private investment fund general partners to confirm K-1 completion dates and report status to firm leadership. Ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and communication throughout each fund cycle. Collaborate with product and development partners to improve the operational utility and efficiency of the firm's proprietary technology platform (BIOS). Manage people and processes to ensure consistent data and document quality, completeness, and structuring in BIOS and supporting systems (e.g., SharePoint). Champion data discipline to facilitate accurate reporting and maximize the value of embedded AI tooling. Acquisition Integration & Growth Support Support pre-acquisition operational diligence and integration planning for 3–5 RIA acquisitions per year. Lead post-acquisition integration of client operations, including asset transfers from broker-dealers and custodial merges at shared platforms. Serve as the primary operational point of contact for acquired teams during the transition period, ensuring continuity of service and minimizing client disruption. WHO YOU ARE Minimum 5 years of RIA operations experience; 10+ years strongly preferred. A people leader with demonstrated experience managing teams of 10+ professionals, across multiple locations. Working knowledge of custodial platforms and processes (Schwab, Fidelity, or comparable). Familiarity with private market fund operations, including capital calls, K-1 processes, and GP/LP communications. Detail oriented with strong communication, organization, and project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent workstreams with competing deadlines. Proficiency with CRM systems, document management platforms, and standard office technology. A college degree is required. WHAT WILL SET YOU APART Experience with RIA acquisition integration, including asset re-registration, broker-dealer transfers, and multi-custodial consolidation. Experience with proprietary or enterprise technology platforms in a wealth management context. Familiarity with data quality management practices and their application to reporting and AI-enabled workflows. Series 65 or equivalent industry registration.
