VP Accountant

This role goes beyond traditional accounting, focused on modernizing the bank’s budgeting process, enhancing financial reporting capabilities, and helping bring systems and processes into a more technology-driven, efficient environment. The ideal candidate understands both accounting principles and the nuances of banking operations, and is eager to grow into a long-term leadership track within the institution. This is a high-impact role with strong visibility, offering the opportunity to act as the CFO’s right hand on critical financial initiatives. Key Responsibilities Partner directly with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial initiatives Lead the transition and modernization of the bank’s budgeting process Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance Develop and improve reporting tools, dashboards, and internal financial processes Support month-end and year-end close processes Leverage technology to streamline accounting workflows and improve efficiency Provide analytical insights to support executive decision-making Requirements & Qualifications 3–7 years of accounting experience within a banking or financial institution Strong understanding of accounting principles in a banking environment Community bank experience strongly preferred High level of technical proficiency; experience with Jack Henry is a major plus Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail Proven ability to work closely with executive leadership Motivated, growth-oriented, and eager to build a long-term career #J-18808-Ljbffr New Edge Associates a Talent Acquisition Firm
