Position Details Title: Investigator Department: CalPERS Investigation Unit Location: Sacramento County Work Type: Permanent, Full Time (Hybrid) Salary Range: $6,339.00 – $10,609.00 A/B (classification dependent) Responsibilities Conduct complex and sensitive disability retirement investigations, including surveillance and use of electronic equipment. Conduct complex and sensitive internal investigations of employee misconduct. Operate undercover and testify in criminal and administrative proceedings. Travel throughout the State of California and work long/unusual hours as required. Locate and interview witnesses, review complex medical reports, obtain evidence, serve subpoenas/other legal documents, and prepare written detailed reports. Work as liaison with state and local law enforcement in coordination of disability cases and fraud investigations. Special Requirements Valid California Driver’s License (CDL) with full documentation. Drug screening test required prior to hire. Background investigation clearance required prior to hire. Medical clearance required prior to hire. Psychological evaluation clearance required prior to hire. Reading and writing assessment required prior to hire. Statement of Qualifications Applicants must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) titled “Statement of Qualifications.” The SOQ must be no longer than two pages, numbered sections, and respond to the following prompts: Describe your knowledge and experience related to investigations, including the approximate number of investigations conducted, types, and investigative reports completed. Describe your knowledge and experience specifically related to surveillance, specifying the type of surveillance conducted and your role. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications (MQs) listed in the Classification Specification.
