- Identify nonconforming or questionable parts and follow procedures for escalation, containment, documentation, and corrective action support.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records in accordance with company procedures.
Troubleshooting, Tooling, and Materials
- Resolve common machining issues related to tooling, surface finish, dimensional variation, machine alignment, workholding, and material conditions.
- Select appropriate tooling independently for standard work and recommend tooling changes when needed.
- Understand the machining behavior of common and difficult-to-machine materials and make appropriate adjustments within established guidelines.
- Verify machine setups, workholding methods, and tooling arrangements are properly secured, aligned, and suitable for the operation.
- Communicate recurring production, quality, tooling, or equipment concerns to supervisors, leads, engineering, or quality personnel as appropriate.
Team Support and Continuous Improvement
- Assist Manual Machinist I employees and production personnel with setup questions, inspection requirements, troubleshooting, and process understanding as needed.
