The Opportunity
The Employee Relations(ER)Specialist will bepart of a team thatisresponsibleforthe execution and delivery of compliance and organizationalglobalemployee relations support. The Employee Relations Specialist role will contribute andparticipatein conflict resolutions and employee relations compliance, investigations and overallER planning andcommunications. Contributes and coordinatesguidance and policy interpretation with Human Resources Partners,leaders andprofessionals on a variety ofemployee relations-relatedtopics that may include terminations, promotions, performancemanagement, employee relations,and other compliance matters. Participates and collaborates on positive employee engagement initiatives and projects as needed.This role works closely with HR PartnersandHRCenters of Expertiseto provide cross-functional, cohesivesupport and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Educate, train and guide managers and supervisors in practices that help ensureequitabletreatment ofemployeesand in compliance with state and federal employment lawsaimed at building positive employee relations within the organization.
Providesupportto HR Partners & Leaders and managecomplex employee relations issues including performance issues,complaintsand investigationsto effectivelyresolve problems and reduce legal risk.
Guideand supportemployees and managers ona variety ofemployee relations matters.Prepare, track, andmaintainappropriateinvestigationreporting and documentation.
Facilitate the workplace accommodations interactive process in alignment with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Ensure compliance with other relatedapplicable laws or regulations globally.Assistwith leave administration support and coordination of activities related to return-to-work.
Provide reporting and analysisona variety of metrics and employee-related items.Compileemployeerelationscase data, documentation, and tracking in case management tool.
Develop,recommendand implement personnel policies and processes whichcomply withU.S. state and federal law,meet Black & Veatch’s current business needs,enhancetheworkplaceand promote the company culture.Conduct research and provide recommendations on changes to support decision-making processes and enableappropriate policyand procedural changes within the organization.
AssistwithrequiredEEO/Affirmative Actionand other compliance-related reporting requirements.Provide consultation to project proposal teams on EEO/AA requirements outside of existing processes.
Coordinate andassistwith companywideEmployee Assistance Programs (EAP)and training.Support mental health and well-being efforts through EAP coordination and support.
Responsible for coordinationof Anti-Harassmentand other compliance-related training programs.
Support special projects andinitiatives asassigned.
Ability to travelless than 10% oftime. Travel may be short notice, at times.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR, BusinessAdministrationor related field.
5+yearsprogressive HR experience in Employee Relations or HR with a strong background incompliance, regulatorytrackingand project management skills. Experience solving employee relations issues.
Strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations related to employee relations and employment law.Knowledge of U.S. federal, state and local employment laws and employee relations trends Understanding of OFCCP and AAP requirements.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and confidence with all levels of employees.Demonstrated success incommunicating withprofessionals at all levels of the company using a consultativemethodology.
Strong leadership, facilitation, teambuildingand process improvement skills. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to conduct thorough investigations effectively and efficiently.
Strong conflict management skills.
Excellent decision-making skills and communication with capacity for listening,understandingand empathy.
Ability to apply consistency, fairness and inclusive thinking to problem solving and decision making.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
