Search Solution Group is seeking a Contract Bookkeeper on behalf of our client, a leading distributor of food service equipment. This part-time contract position is responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and financial recordkeeping. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced with QuickBooks Desktop, ensuring accurate financial transactions and supporting the company's ongoing accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Prepare and process customer invoices and billing transactions.
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
- Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collections when necessary.
- Process vendor payments and maintain vendor account records.
- Assist with month-end bookkeeping activities and financial reporting.
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company accounting procedures.
- Collaborate with internal team members to resolve accounting and billing issues.
- Support additional bookkeeping and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant bookkeeping experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing.
- Experience using QuickBooks Desktop is required.
- Experience working in a distribution, manufacturing, or similar business environment is a plus.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) certification is a plus but not required.
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Billing and invoicing procedures.
- Bank reconciliations and financial recordkeeping.
- Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- General accounting principles and bookkeeping best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Dependability and accountability.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial information.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Adaptability in a part-time, fast-paced work environment.
