Billing Manager

Billing ManagerThe Billing Manager assists in supervising the routine accounting functions of the company. This position is responsible for helping form, implement, and enforce company and industry standards, policies, and procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the company's billing and collections activities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage and continually assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the routine billing and collections activities of the company. Perform clerical and routine accounting duties when needed.Assist in preparing monthly financial statements as required, including monthly balance sheets and income reports.Implement and enforce standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and maximize efficiency.Oversee the posting of payments received to appropriate customer accounts and the balancing of accounts receivable reconciling statements.Develop and analyze reports, documents, and financial information. Communicate findings to management.Help prepare and implement accounting system improvements or changes when necessary.Record and maintain current and accurate information regarding customer accounts and the status of collection efforts.Monitor collection efforts and the payment of accounts receivables. When customers fail to respond to collection efforts, inform credit departments, order merchandise repossession and service disconnection, and turn over account records to company attorneys.Investigate and work to resolve customer issues while providing quality customer service.Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.Experience, Education and RequirementsA college degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field is required.Two (2) years' experience in a supervisory position is preferred.Five (5) years' experience in bookkeeping, billing, or a related Accounting function is required.Thorough knowledge and understanding of industry best practices, risk assessment techniques, standards, and all applicable laws and regulations as they relate to the Accounting field is required.Skills and CompetenciesProven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate others.Creative problem-solving skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Accounting software.Physical Demands and Environmental ConditionsContinuous sitting and tasks involving repetitive motions using wrists, hands and fingers are required for periods of 6-8+ hours at a time.Occasional walking or standing is required.Occasional carrying of weights from 0-25 pounds may be required.This job operates in an office environment.Pay Range: $22.21-$28.27BenefitsPTO, paid holidays, sick timeMedical, dental, vision, life insurances401(k) with company matchingThe compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, work experience, competencies, and skills, and may fall outside of the range shown.Patriot Environmental Services is an equal opportunity employer (EOE)
