Packaging Machine Operator I - 1st Shift

PMO ISalary Range: $21.28 Hourly Status: Non-Exempt Days/Shifts: 1st Shift Location: Springfield, OH Reports to: Production SupervisorGeneral Description / Primary PurposeUnder the direction of the Production Supervisor and PMO Lead, this position is responsible to operate all Hayssen and Triangle packaging equipment in a safe and responsible manner following the Packaging Machine Operator SOP.Major Responsibilities and Tasks / Duties of the PositionOperate all Hayssen and Triangle packaging equipmentAble to work around machinery and equipmentPerform forming tube changeovers (7",8",9",10", 2lbs,3lbs,and 5lbs)Ability to operate Yamato and Ishida scalesMaintain the area cleanRequires extensive problem solving skillsPaperwork dutiesMust be capable of performing quality checks, product changeover, re-supplying of film.Employees must adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP's related to producing Safe Quality Food (SQF)Comply with Food Safety Requirements and GMPs as applicable to this position.Comply with other duties as assigned by Lead or SupervisorJob Specific CompetenciesMust have 2-4 years experience operating packaging machineryMust have troubleshooting knowledge of machineryBasic math skills requiredAble to read and write legiblyMust have excellent communication skillsPhysical RequirementsWork is performed in a cold environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia is present. Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and 20 lbs. overhead as job demands. Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required.
