As a Locum MD in Psychiatry, you will play a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and managing a diverse range of psychiatric conditions. Your expertise will be essential in developing treatment plans and engaging with patients to improve their mental well-being. This role contributes directly to enhancing the quality of care and ensuring the effective delivery of psychiatric services in our community.

 

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
• Provide psychotherapy and medication management as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes
• Participate in case management and treatment planning meetings
• Stay current with developments in psychiatric treatment and practices
• Provide education and support to patients and their families

Requirements

• MD degree from an accredited medical school
• Valid medical license to practice psychiatry in New York
• Previous experience in a psychiatric setting is preferred
• Strong diagnostic and assessment skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
• Knowledge of current best practices in psychiatric medicine

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30a-4:30p

Weekday and weekend call

Average Daily Census: 5-10 patients

Patient Population: Primarily adult, adolescent coverage if needed

Support Staff: 2 MDs, 1 NP

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
