This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality anesthesia care to patients across diverse surgical and diagnostic procedures. In this role, you will be responsible for administering anesthesia, monitoring patient vital signs, managing postoperative pain, and collaborating closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Your clinical judgment and ability to respond quickly to changing patient conditions will be essential in ensuring safe, positive outcomes. Responsibilities

• Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for patients undergoing surgical procedures
• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, review patient medical history, and determine appropriate anesthesia plans
• Monitor patient vital signs, anesthesia depth, and physiological status throughout procedures
• Manage airway, ventilation, and hemodynamic stability during induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Respond promptly to adverse reactions, complications, or emergencies, including resuscitation as needed
• Document anesthesia care accurately and comprehensively in patient medical records
• Collaborate with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care
• Provide postoperative pain management and oversee patient recovery in the post-anesthesia care unit
• Adhere to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements governing anesthesia practice
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of patient safety

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Anesthesiology
• Board certification or board eligibility in Anesthesiology
• Active and unrestricted medical license to practice as a physician
• Associate-level clinical experience in anesthesia practice
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• DEA registration for controlled substances, as applicable
• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with patients, families, and care teams
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced medical environment
• Availability to work on-site in Ithaca for the duration of the contract assignment

Schedule: 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts

Daily Census: 8-12 patients

Duties: Place invasive lines, perform peripheral nerve blocks

Must be comfortable with OB or Healthy Peds

No neonates or cardiac

Will be supervising CRNAs

EMR: Epic

Board certification required

Paid travel & expenses
