First review of applications: July 28, 2026. Position Summary The City of Fairview is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk I to join the Finance Department. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Clerk I performs routine to moderately complex clerical and accounting duties related to utility billing, customer accounts, cash receipting, and general office support. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and high-quality customer service. Key Responsibilities Process utility billing, payments, adjustments, and delinquency notices Maintain customer accounts; research and resolve billing discrepancies Receive, receipt, balance, and deposit daily payments Run routine reports and identify irregularities Provide front-counter, phone, and general clerical support Knowledge & Skills Basic accounting and mathematical skills Strong customer service and communication skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to use standard office and accounting software Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Two (2) years of clerical experience involving public contact and exposure to utility billing, or related accounting functions An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Apply Job Description available for download in Job Details.
