Dalton Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and empathic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote position focused on delivering high-quality mental health care through telehealth services. Work Environment

This position is 100% remote, allowing for flexibility in work hours while ensuring continuous engagement with clients through telehealth platforms. Our counselors utilize advanced telecommunication technologies to conduct sessions, ensuring a seamless and accessible experience for both clients and practitioners. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including preliminary interviews and assessments, while documenting cases from consultation to the resolution of treatment.
• Devise personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities tailored to client needs.
• Monitor and evaluate client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting interventions as needed to enhance recovery outcomes.
• Collaborate extensively with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers to ensure holistic support for each client.
• Provide strategic management of referrals to external resources and services when necessary, always prioritizing the client’s best interest.
• Follow up with clients who have been hospitalized or require additional medical support, maintaining an ongoing relationship that fosters trust and recovery.
• Assist family members and caregivers in understanding and managing the complexities of mental and behavioral health challenges that impact their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients served at Dalton Counseling Center range from adolescents to adults experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and substance use disorders. Our counselors are trained to handle the complexities of both underlying physical health conditions and emotional struggles, primarily focusing on creating a safe and non-judgmental space for mental healing.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated previous experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms for managing client information and records.
• Proficiency in understanding the interplay between mental health, addiction disorders, and complex physical health conditions.
• Knowledge of best practices as endorsed by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with an approachable and compassionate demeanor.

Preferred Experience

• Previous telehealth counseling experience is a plus, enhancing the ability to conduct effective remote sessions.
• A background in dealing with diverse populations and familiarity with culturally competent practices.
• Prior experience working with multidisciplinary teams in a healthcare environment.

Compensation and Benefits
