Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to understand client's mental health needs and identify appropriate diagnostic criteria.
• Provide individualized counseling sessions to assist clients in managing conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions, promoting a supportive atmosphere where clients can share experiences and learn coping mechanisms.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans with measurable goals tailored to each client’s unique challenges and aspirations.
• Act promptly in crisis situations, providing immediate interventions, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating emergency resources as needed.
• Engage in continuous professional development through workshops, seminars, and training to remain informed of the latest trends and advancements in mental health care.
• Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure a strong multidisciplinary approach to client care.

Your work will primarily focus on individuals seeking support for various mental health issues, ranging from anxiety and depression to challenges associated with addiction and trauma. You will play a crucial role in fostering resilience and empowering clients to navigate their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

• A master's or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a mental health counselor (LMHC) in New York State.
• A minimum of three years' experience in a clinical setting, including supervised clinical hours as mandated by state regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop effective treatment plans.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport and trust with clients of diverse backgrounds.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping abreast of emerging trends in mental health.

Preferred Experience

• Additional certifications in trauma-informed care, addiction counseling, or family therapy may enhance your candidacy.
• Experience working in outpatient settings with diverse populations, including adolescents, adults, and families.
• Proficiency in telehealth technologies that facilitate remote counseling and client engagement.

Compensation and Benefits
