Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to evaluate their psychological needs and develop personalized care plans.
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions tailored to address the emotional challenges of aging, including issues of grief, loss, and life transitions.
• Offer guidance and educational sessions for family members and caregivers on topics such as enhancing emotional well-being and maintaining quality of life in aging individuals.
• Facilitate therapeutic grief counseling sessions for clients and their families facing end-of-life challenges, fostering a supportive space for sharing and healing.
• Document client progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with organizational standards, contributing to the continuous quality improvement of our services.
• Engage in regular consultations with colleagues to discuss client cases and share insights that enhance therapeutic interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on providing mental health support to elderly individuals dealing with a variety of psychological challenges, including depression, anxiety, complex grief, and transitions associated with aging. You'll support clients as they navigate significant life changes, loss of loved ones, or adjustments to new living situations, ensuring they receive compassionate and competent care tailored to their specific needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in geriatric counseling or providing mental health support to older adults.
• Proficient in therapeutic practices that promote emotional well-being and recovery among aging populations.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in group therapy facilitation and family counseling.
• Familiarity with community resources and support systems for seniors, enabling holistic care.

Compensation and Benefits
