Director, Events

About the Role On Location is a global leader in premium experiential hospitality, offering ticketing, curated guest experiences, live event production and travel management across sports, entertainment, fashion and culture. We are seeking a dynamic, relationship‑focused Director to support client services, event strategy and operations for a major sporting event in the Southeast United States. The Director will drive surrounding client hospitality programs, ensuring top‑tier client satisfaction, creative program enhancements and successful event execution each spring. Key Responsibilities Manage surrounding client relationships at a major sporting event in the Southeast United States, focusing on retention and renewal. Communicate all program elements clearly and ensure client deliverables are achieved through email, calls and site visits. Collaborate with rightsholder partners to deliver on partner needs (e.g., reporting, ideation). Build program budgets and prospect proposals, sourcing accommodations, transportation, catering, in‑home stocking, activities and entertainment. Ideate, identify and execute additional client product offerings to elevate and expand guest experience and revenue opportunities. Lead and oversee additional service team members, both full‑time and part‑time. Develop and maintain vendor relationships, focusing on process improvements and cost savings. Manage legal and financial workstreams as needed. Oversee end‑to‑end program execution at the highest level of service. Assist with ideation and development of overall event offering and performance measurement using identified KPIs. Qualifications 7+ years of relevant business experience, preferably in B2B client management or event property services. 5+ years managing hospitality programs, with preference for golf or marquee level events. Proven leadership and team‑management capabilities. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a collaborative style and confidence to communicate effectively across all levels. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Ability to balance creative thinking with practical, logistical execution—bringing innovative ideas to life while managing complex projects. Proven ability to build and maintain long‑lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Ability to stay composed under pressure or when onsite issues arise. Willingness to travel for business on weekends and holidays or work nights and weekends when needed. Working Conditions Full‑time exempt position. Semi‑frequent travel (no less than quarterly), including multiple weeks in March and April. Must be available for on‑site work during evening and weekend events. Salary & Benefits Annual base salary: $86,250 – $115,000. Salary range based on location and qualifications.
