Job Responsibilities

• Assess patients of varying age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
• Create individualized treatment plans addressing immediate concerns and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
• Implement one-on-one speech therapy sessions tailored to enhance communication skills, including language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing mechanisms.
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families, to craft integrated care strategies.
• Provide valuable education to patients and their families to facilitate progress outside of therapy sessions.
• Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring consistent care throughout the therapeutic process.
• Maintain accurate documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
• Engage in continuous professional development and peer collaboration to stay updated with advancements within the field.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure for Speech Language Pathologists.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
