Work Environment

Located in the heart of Los Gatos, our facility provides a state-of-the-art environment where rehabilitation services occur. As a PTA, you will work alongside experienced Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals who support a patient-centered approach. Our outpatient orthopedic setting focuses primarily on addressing a variety of injuries and conditions, thereby providing a dynamic and engaging atmosphere that is conducive to learning and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to patients' specific needs and functional goals.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities with patients, ensuring correct technique and providing modifications as needed to facilitate effective rehabilitation.
• Administer various therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy, while monitoring the patient's response and comfort level.
• Maintain accurate patient records by documenting treatment sessions, progress, and any changes to the plan, communicating this information effectively with supervising Physical Therapists.
• Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and strategies for ongoing recovery to promote independence and prevent future injuries.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations, maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive health information.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and cohesive care for all patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with diverse patients experiencing a range of orthopedic conditions and recovery needs, from post-surgical rehabilitation to management of chronic pain. Our patient demographic includes athletes, seniors, and individuals recovering from injuries, all requiring unique approaches and therapies focused on regaining strength and mobility.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of California.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a rehabilitation or outpatient orthopedic setting, highlighting your hands-on knowledge of therapeutic practices and protocols.
• Evidence of proficiency in patient education, therapeutic techniques, and manual therapy.
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to foster positive relationships with patients while demonstrating compassion and care.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient documentation and patient management.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in an outpatient orthopedic environment.
