SOUS CHEF (FULL TIME)

Position: SOUS CHEF Location: Colts Cafe - 7001 West 56th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46254. This is a full‑time position, primarily evening shift but may also work day shift. Working mornings, weekends, and some holidays is required. Requirements At least 5 years of experience in a high‑volume kitchen. Supervisory experience required. Must be able to work the required shift schedule. Responsibilities Prepare and cook food following approved recipes and production standards; ensure all deadlines are met based on production orders. Supervise hourly food‑service associates; interview, schedule, manage payroll, train, counsel, conduct reviews, and recommend disciplinary action as appropriate. Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures. Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; clean workstations thoroughly before leaving area; keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation, safety, production and merchandising requirements. Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner and relay relevant information to the supervisor. Demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and explain them accurately to associates and customers. Keep up with peak production and service hours. Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies; track product production, consumption and waste; inform the supervisor when supplies or product are low. Perform other duties as assigned.
