Role Description The Accounts Payable Specialist is a full‑time, on‑site role based at our Stevensville, MD headquarters. This position is responsible for processing vendor invoices, matching purchase orders and receipts, coding expenses to the correct accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payments. The role includes maintaining vendor records, reconciling statements, resolving discrepancies, and responding to vendor and internal inquiries. The specialist will assist with month‑end closing activities related to payables, support audits with documentation, and help improve accounts payable processes and controls. Collaboration with purchasing, operations, and finance teams is expected to ensure that payments align with contract terms and company policies. Qualifications Accounts payable and general accounting skills, including invoice processing, purchase order matching, and account reconciliation. Proficiency with accounting or ERP software, spreadsheets, and basic financial reporting tools. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams. Understanding of basic accounting principles, internal controls, and compliance with company policies. Prior experience in manufacturing or government contracting environments is beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
