This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from the comfort of your home while making a significant impact in the lives of patients. Our telehealth platform empowers counselors to engage with patients via video sessions, phone consultations, and secure messaging, ensuring high-quality care is accessible to those in need. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required based on patient schedules and needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the cognitive, emotional, and social needs of older adults.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that consider the interplay of mental, cognitive, and physical health in the elderly.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, ensuring adaptation to specific geriatric conditions.

• Collaborate seamlessly with geriatric psychiatrists and healthcare teams to deliver integrated care, sharing insights on patient progress and required adjustments.

• Provide crisis intervention services for elderly patients experiencing acute mental health emergencies.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health matters, treatment options, and available community resources for ongoing support.

• Maintain accurate and secure documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

• Participate in team meetings, contributing insights from patient experiences and discussing ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

• Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in geriatric psychiatric care to continually improve patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of your work will be the geriatric population, addressing conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties among older adults. You will engage with patients who may be facing significant life changes, chronic illness, and social isolation, requiring a deep understanding of their mental health challenges and a compassionate approach to care.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Texas.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of mental health practices specific to the geriatric population.
