ACCOUNT RELATIONSHIP SPECIALIST

We are seeking a relationship-focused  Account Relationship Specialist to join our  Jani-King of Washington D.C. team, supporting Customer accounts across the  Fairfax, VA area. This role serves as the primary point of contact between Customers, Unit Franchisees, and the regional office — building strong relationships and protecting Customer retention across an assigned portfolio of accounts.

Position Summary

As an Account Relationship Specialist, you'll be the face of Jani-King for a dedicated portfolio of Customer accounts — building genuine relationships, solving problems before they grow into bigger ones, and making sure every Customer feels valued from day one. You'll partner closely with Unit Franchisees to keep service quality high and Customer satisfaction even higher.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Unit Franchisee Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned Customer accounts, providing responsive and proactive service.
• Conduct regular site visits and Customer meetings to reinforce satisfaction and address concerns before they escalate.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with Unit Franchisees, serving as a trusted liaison.
• Partner with Customers to understand evolving facility needs and identify opportunities for expanded services.

Retention & Risk Management

• Monitor assigned accounts for early warning signs of dissatisfaction.
• Develop and execute action plans to resolve at-risk Customer relationships before they result in cancellation.
• Track and report retention trends, risks, and save opportunities to regional leadership.

Account Startups & Onboarding

• Coordinate new account launches, ensuring smooth transitions from sales to ongoing account management.
• Provide Unit Franchisees with resources and hands-on guidance during account onboarding.
• Monitor new accounts closely during the first 90 days to confirm stability and satisfaction.

Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance

• Perform routine inspections of Customer sites to confirm adherence to service standards (training provided).
• Document findings, provide actionable feedback, and follow up to confirm corrective measures are implemented.
• Reinforce OSHA guidelines, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.

Sales Partnership

• Collaborate with the sales team during walkthroughs, proposals, and contract handoffs.
• Provide account-level insight to help ensure proposals align with service capabilities.
• Support regional growth by helping transition new Customers into long-term, well-managed relationships.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in customer service, account management, hospitality, or another customer-facing role; commercial cleaning industry experience a plus
• Multi-unit experience — supporting, managing, or overseeing multiple sites, accounts, or locations simultaneously — required
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and conflict resolution skills
• Comfortable working independently, managing multiple accounts, and prioritizing competing needs
• Willingness to learn Jani-King's service standards, inspection procedures, and safety requirements on the job
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required (Jani-King provides a company vehicle for local travel)

This role combines in-office planning with regular fieldwork across the assigned territory — including site visits, Customer meetings, and Unit Franchisee support. This is not a desk-bound role.
