Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine client needs and mental health status.

• Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans that address individual challenges and goals, particularly for clients dealing with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and eating disorders.

• Regularly meeting with clients to monitor progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure they have the coping strategies needed to overcome their challenges.

• Providing referrals to other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists or substance abuse specialists, when deemed necessary to optimize client care.

• Maintaining detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR) of client interactions and treatment progress.

• Participating in case consultations with multidisciplinary teams to discuss complex cases and enhance treatment efficacy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse population of adult clients, including individuals facing a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse. You will engage with clients from various cultural backgrounds, emphasizing the importance of cultural competence and sensitivity in therapy to foster trust and understanding.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of relevant mental health counseling experience.

• Strong understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and cultural competence in therapeutic practice.

• Ability to provide both individual and group therapy, employing culturally responsive approaches.

• Excellent crisis intervention skills and capacity to stay calm in high-stress scenarios.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with a diverse client base.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and proficiency in utilizing computer applications for documentation and teletherapy.

Preferred Experience\n

While the listed qualifications are required, candidates with additional experience in substance abuse counseling, trauma-informed care, or previous remote work within the mental health field will be given preference.
