Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting some of the youngest learners as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher specializing in PreK classrooms. This contract position offers the chance to work across multiple school sites within a vibrant community, providing direct support to students with unique needs in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Your responsibilities will center on facilitating inclusive learning experiences, crafting individualized education plans (IEPs), and fostering communication with families and staff to ensure student success. Each week, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape young minds during regular school hours, all while managing a focused caseload of 10-20 students.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
- Previous experience teaching early childhood/preK-age children in a special education setting
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, instructional adaptations, and classroom management for children with varied needs
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across different school sites
- Excellent communication skills to effectively partner with parents and staff
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instruction based on student IEPs
- Foster a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment for PreK students
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and paraprofessionals within the district
- Communicate progress and concerns to parents and guardians
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
- Adapt materials and strategies to meet diverse learning needs
This position features a standard Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm schedule within the 40-hour workweek and offers a dynamic work setting with new challenges and rewards every day.
