HR Generalist

Job Description This position performs Human Resource Generalist responsibilities at the Amcor, Inc. facility in Louisville Kentucky. The successful candidate will assist in the completion of organizational responsibilities in all functional areas within Human Resources to include but not limited to employee relations, organizational development, communications, payroll, compensation and benefits, training, team learning and development, succession planning, retention and staffing. Responsibilities In partnership with site HR leadership, provide proactive HR support and execution in all business initiatives including staffing, managing all phases of the hiring process, compensation and benefits, training and development, succession planning, records management, employee relations and retention. Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and analyzing opportunities for improvement, evaluating and implementing solutions, coaching and counseling managers and employees. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, manage the 90‑day onboarding process, monitor team member feedback and create plans to ensure new hire retention. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data. Maintain, update and ensure accuracy of information in the Human Resources and Payroll (HRIS) systems. Manage and track all leaves of absences and attendance monitoring. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations. Navigate various HR software including HRIS systems, time‑keeping, performance planning, learning modules and safety training modules. Assist with plant organizational development and expansion. Manage the Amcor Employee Communication System for the production facility and remote warehouses. Manage current temporary staffing agencies to fill open positions and review potential new agencies. Assist with potential Amcor team transfers to different plants for advancement opportunities or relocations. Monitor and increase employee engagement using key metrics, incentives, awards, events and communications. Process payroll on a bi‑weekly basis. Maintain and report key performance indicators (retention, attrition, etc.), analyze trends and recommend improvements. Research and provide input on HR products and processes to improve efficiency and established practices. Assist with UI claims and Workers’ Compensation management; represent the plant at UI and WC hearings. Play an active role in coordinating all employee activities and supporting site initiatives to encourage an engaged workforce. Qualifications Associate’s degree or three to five years of Human Resources related experience preferred. SHRM‑CP or SC P is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment law and proven ability to apply that knowledge. Proven skills in performance management, training management and conflict resolution. Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Prior experience processing payroll highly preferred. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with talent acquisition systems required. Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Bi‑lingual with Spanish a plus.
