Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant - Healing Hands at Life Mission Nursing and Rehab

Position Overview

As a vital member of our clinical team, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Life Mission Nursing and Rehab is responsible for delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to our patients in a structured and supportive environment. You will work under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists, working directly with individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, or ongoing physical conditions. This position is a full-time role with a Monday to Friday schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with Patient Treatment: Implement tailored treatment plans developed by physical therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapies, and modalities. For example, you may help patients practice mobility exercises to regain strength and coordination or assist them with pain relief techniques.
• Patient Monitoring: Continuously observe patients during therapy sessions, documenting their progress and making real-time adjustments to their exercises based on their feedback and performance. You will play a crucial role in identifying early signs of challenges, ensuring optimal recovery trajectories.
• Patient Education: Educate patients about their rehabilitation goals, ensuring they understand the importance of treatment plans and how they can participate actively in their recovery through home exercises and lifestyle modifications.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, progress notes, and any observations regarding patient responses to therapies. You will utilize our electronic health record systems to ensure compliance with legal requirements and organizational protocols.
• Assist in Patient Mobility: Provide hands-on support to help patients move safely and comfortably during therapy, enhancing their confidence and fostering independence in their activities.
• Maintain Equipment: Ensure that all therapeutic equipment used during sessions is properly cleaned, maintained, and ready for use, contributing to a safe and effective treatment environment.
• Collaborate with Therapists and Staff: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists, rehabilitation nurses, and physicians to develop comprehensive rehabilitation plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Provide Administrative Support: Occasionally assist with front-office processes such as patient intakes and appointment scheduling to ensure a smooth operational flow within the clinic.

Our facility serves a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries or traumatic injuries, including joint replacement surgeries, fractures, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Possession of a current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in California or eligibility to obtain one.
• A strong foundation in therapeutic exercises and orthopedic rehabilitation principles.
• Ability to execute physical therapy procedures as dictated by assessing therapists.
• Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
