Job Summary

A Human Resources Specialist is needed for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Columbia, SC. This role supports day-to-day HR operations with a strong focus on onboarding, benefits administration, employee records, HRIS updates, and employee support.

This is a great opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys helping employees, keeping processes organized, and supporting a collaborative HR team. The position offers hands-on exposure to core human resources functions, supportive leadership, and the opportunity to contribute to a positive, service-focused workplace where accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism are valued.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate new hire onboarding, including paperwork, orientation, employment verification, and benefits enrollment.
- Assist employees with benefits questions related to health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, leave programs, and other employee programs.
- Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, HRIS data, payroll updates, and employee status changes.
- Support HR compliance processes, including I-9 documentation, employment eligibility verification, and policy administration.
- Assist with recruitment activities such as job postings, applicant tracking, interview coordination, and pre-employment processes.
- Prepare HR reports, correspondence, employee documentation, and other administrative HR materials as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $24 to $26 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Location: Columbia, SC.
