Coding Coordinator

Role Description

We are looking for an employee that can be responsible for the daily operational support of the coding department. Activities may vary, but will include:

• Coordination of interdepartmental communication
• Coordination of intradepartmental workflow tasks and items
• Management of provider communication and related activities

Supervision Received: Reports to Regulatory Services Supervisor.

Supervision Exercised: None.

Typical Physical Demands: Requires prolonged standing or sitting while working in an office environment. Requires some bending or stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.

Typical Working Conditions: Normal office environment.

Responsibilities

• Compile, distribute daily coding status reports and production statistics weekly
• Assist in the completion of non-coding reports and tasks
• Work departmental reports to identify any misdirected, unassigned, or uncoded encounters
• Create, coordinate, and distribute coding departmental communication as needed
• Manage administrative tasks as provided by departmental leadership
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Perform related work as required or needed

Location & Commitments

• Full-time remote role headquartered at our Greenville Arlington Blvd. location, Monday-Friday, hours to be determined.
• Overtime may be required to ensure departmental needs are met.

Qualifications

• General healthcare or related experience
• General knowledge of medical coding, insurance, and billing
• Five years of Front desk coordinator or similar experience in a healthcare environment
• Organization and good communication required
• Use of MS Office will be required
• Education: High School Diploma; additional education considered in lieu of experience
