Quick Facts Location: Lafayette, LA Start Date: 03/04/2026 End Date/Duration: Ongoing Shift: Flexible (Inpatient rounding, surgery, ER call, 1 clinic day/week) Hours/week: Approximately 40+ Employment Type: Full-time, Locum License/Certifications: Active State License; ACLS, BLS preferred Experience: Prior experience in cardiovascular or thoracic surgery is preferred but not required Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00 (pay package discussed upon application) Additional Benefits: Medical insurance options, malpractice coverage, licensing assistance, travel stipends What You’ll Do Inpatient rounding on cardiovascular surgery patients Conduct surgical consults and Emergency Room call coverage Assist with complex procedures including CABG, thoracotomies, lobectomies, AAA repairs, arterial bypasses, and valve replacements Support post-operative patient care (typically 15-20 patients) Participate in a team of 2 surgeons and 3 APPs, collaborating on approximately 90 surgeries/procedures monthly Manage clinic responsibilities one day per week What You Need Active State License as PA or Nurse Practitioner Key skills in cardiovascular/thoracic surgical procedures Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Relevant clinical experience in surgery, critical care, or emergency care (preferred) About the Assignment Join a top-tier facility in Lafayette, known for its advanced cardiovascular services and commitment to patient care.
