Reporting to the Program Manager of EBSE, the Employment Specialist (EBSE) is responsible to boost Humanim’s Employment Services programs in Maryland by promoting and marketing their services through relationship building with existing and potential referral sources, identifying new referral partners, identifying market opportunities, and raising brand awareness within the designated service area.

 

This role provides educational information about our programs, creating relationships that allow consumers of Humanim programs to obtain employment in the community. Utilizing all contact methodologies to achieve maximum reach with the ultimate goal of developing trusting and long-term relationships for referrals and employment placement. The Employment Consultant coordinates with the clinical team to recommend additional services consumers may require. This role assists in the development of employment opportunities for individuals with mental health issue, that can include job coaching, follow along supports, ongoing job supports, self-employment support services, career exploration services, co-worker supports and/or pre- vocational/independent living skills activities based on assigned participants’ goals.

 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for selling Humanim’s services by developing business relations and business partners with companies in the community to obtain employment opportunities for consumers in part- or full-time competitive jobs.
• Conduct job analysis at job sites before placement to ensure appropriate job match and compliance with consumer, employer, agency treatment team and funding source(s) needs.
• Remain knowledgeable and be able to explain ADA/reasonable accommodations to employers and advocate for consumers.
• Follow policies and procedures for Job Development services and facilitation communication for consumer throughout interview and application process.
• Facilitate on the job orientation for consumers and ensure consumer remains actively engage in the placement process and re-engage if disengagement occurs.
• Provide on/offsite job support and PRP visits to ensure proper training for consumers.
• Responsible for proper documentation and management of progress reports, individual vocational plans (IVP), job development and support addendums and all other agency required documentation.
• Develop, maintain and actively seek community partnerships, attend meetings and conferences and participate in other marketing and promotion of Humanim’s services.
• Actively work and maintain relationships with DORS associates to encourage referrals, support consumers referred and work to meeting current and anticipated needs from DORS counselors.
• Collaborate with departmental and cross functional teams to coordinate treatments, job leads, and ensure all team members are supporting consumers.
• Responsible for 4 employment placement a year.
• Develop at minimum 6 employer leads per week.
• Responsible to document within 24 hours client contact/meetings . Change this to 48-72 hours. This was discussed with Cindy.
• Follow Fidelity guidelines of 26 community hours(Time spent outside of our Humanim and Vesta Offices, drive time is counted within these hours).
• Follow clinicians treatment recommendations, meet with each clients therapist and or Psychiatrist every 6 months face to face or via video telehealth to ensure mental health treatment is being considered with employment goals
• Minimum of 3 face-to-face meetings per a month with each client on caseload.
• Minimum of 2 face-to-face meetings per a month with each client looking for employment.
• All other duties as assigned.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Ability to spend extended periods sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· GED or High School Diploma Required.

· Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.

· Experience with recruiting, sales or marketing preferred

· Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

· Maintain up to date automobile insurance.

· Have a minimum of 2 years of driving experience.

· Ability to relate well to staff and board members of different races, ethnicities, genders, sexual

orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds, and religions.
