Registered Nurse - PICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU, floating across various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, peds MedSurg, peds PACU, peds ED, and postpartum. Ensures patient safety and comfort while adhering to hospital policies and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Assess pediatric patients' conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Document patient observations, treatments, and progress accurately in electronic health records.
• Adhere to clinical policies, including float and travel policies, and maintain compliance with safety standards.
• Respond effectively to pediatric emergencies, including ventilator management and critical interventions.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license, with VA license pending considered if in process.
• A minimum of 2 years PICU experience required.
• Past NICU/PICU float pool experience highly preferred.
• Current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required or pending.
• Epic experience preferred.
