As a mental health counselor with Medina Counseling Center, you will utilize advanced telehealth technologies to connect with clients, conduct assessments, and facilitate therapy sessions, all from the comfort of your own home or preferred workspace.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including history-taking and risk assessments, to formulate a thorough understanding of each client’s needs.

• Design, implement, and adjust personalized treatment plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, based on evidence-based methodologies.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing various therapeutic modalities tailored to client requirements.
\n
• Continuously monitor client progress and adapt treatment strategies as needed to ensure the best outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, social workers, and other mental health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.

• Document all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as AVATAR.
\n
• Provide education and support to clients’ families and caregivers, helping them understand mental health challenges and treatment processes.
\n
• Stay informed on the latest developments in mental health therapy and best practices to continuously improve service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients encompass a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, presenting with various mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, and more. As a mental health counselor at Medina Counseling Center, you will work closely with clients to empower them on their journey toward recovery, using your clinical insight to drive effective interventions.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas is required.
\n
• A passing score on the NCE and/or NCMHCE examinations is mandatory.
\n
• Strong clinical assessment skills with proven experience in developing and implementing treatment plans.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, specifically AVATAR, is highly preferred.
\n
• In-depth understanding of the complexities surrounding behavioral health, including co-occurring disorders.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clarity and empathy in all client interactions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in a telehealth setting is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, with strong interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and clinical guidelines.
