Job Description

Johnson Service Group is looking for an Engine Lathe Machinist with 3+ years' machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment operating manual lathes, milling machines, or CNC lathes/mills. This is a Direct Hire job for a Pumps company in the San Dimas, CA area. Pay Rate: $30.00 HR

Duties:

• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
• Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures
• Operate basic equipment and machines and conduct routine tasks
• Help to maintain and repair equipment by conducting preparations and aiding
• Follow basic mandatory work instructions to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others
• Follow a straightforward mandatory procedure to ensure that work is conducted to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct
• Interpret and use precision measuring equipment/instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances
• Exchange information with people by having courteous interactions with them
• Works with guidance to understand policies and procedures, while making sure they match organizational strategies and objectives

Requirements:

• 3+ years machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment operating manual lathes, milling machines, or CNC lathes/mills
• HS Diploma / GED and / or 0-2 years relevant experience
• Able to interpret detailed drawings, and/or specifications for the material to be used
• Ability to proficiently use precision measuring instruments
• Ability to perform complex setups
• Self Starter, reliable
